The artist behind one of the most striking photo series in High Times’ 50th Anniversary Issue is bringing her vision into the physical world. This Wednesday, November 5, photographer Lelen Ruete debuts her new exhibition LIBRE at Vía Disegno Mall, as part of the “Art Nights” program in Buenos Aires.

Presented by The Rabbit Studio, LIBRE expands on the same hypnotic aesthetic featured in our collector’s edition magazine. The show merges lenticular and neon techniques to create living images that change with movement. As light bends and shifts, color becomes pulse, energy, rhythm.

“LIBRE is an ode to honesty and self-respect,” says the artist. “It’s about celebrating craftsmanship and ancient technology, about creating visual effects without computers.”

Each image transforms before your eyes, evolving like a living organism. Materials, light, and composition interact in real time, offering a sensory experience that defies repetition.

For those who encountered Lelen’s photographs in High Times—the radiant portraits printed across the centerfold and four accompanying pages—LIBRE is their next evolution. Seen up close, the pieces reveal new layers of detail and depth, capturing that same tension between natural and digital, analog and futuristic.

Lelen Ruete is a Latin American photographer whose work blends fashion editorial flair with the raw beauty of cannabis. Through projects like Herbarium and Magia, and her ongoing work with The Rabbit Studio, she has become one of the world’s leading cannabis visual storytellers. Her images celebrate the plant’s colors, textures, and spirit, destigmatizing cannabis while capturing its surreal, botanical elegance.

The opening runs Wednesday, November 5, from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., with music by DJ Pati Wolf and local bites to match. The exhibition will remain on display until November 8, alongside works from other emerging artists.

More than a show, LIBRE is an invitation to feel, to explore, to expand.
