During a memorable appearance on The Late Show, Hollywood legends Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin shared more than just laughs with host Stephen Colbert; they shared their thoughts on psychedelics.
While promoting their 2022 film Moving On, the conversation turned to something more mind-expanding.
“You guys have done peyote together,” Colbert remarked. Both actresses confirmed it without hesitation.

When Colbert brought up microdosing, Tomlin casually revealed that she had microdosed earlier that very day. “I usually do,” she said, joking that she’s a bit more advanced than Fonda when it comes to this kind of exploration.
Colbert, curious, asked: “Do you think it would be good for me?” referring to trying peyote.
Fonda didn’t hesitate: Yes, she said; and even offered to guide him herself. Though she warned (with a playful jab at Tomlin), maybe not to trust Lily’s skills as a shaman.
A ‘Horrible’ Trip
Fonda also shared a cautionary tale. While she’s had good experiences with peyote, the time she and Tomlin did it together wasn’t one of them. “It was the worst,” she admitted. “I wouldn’t do peyote unless you’re with a guide or something.”
Tomlin, not missing a beat, quipped: “A shaman — as I am.”
Turns out, microdosing isn’t just for tech bros or wellness influencers. Sometimes it’s for two of Hollywood’s most celebrated icons.
